Annual Reports
Discover Arid Recovery's journey in pioneering conservation science through our comprehensive collection of annual reports.
Arid Recovery, a small not-for-profit organization, plays a pivotal role in conservation efforts in Australia’s outback, particularly through innovative research on recovering threatened mammals. This year, it completed the initial phase of establishing a population of endangered Kowaris at its Roxby Downs reserve—the first translocation of the species to a secure reserve. Key infrastructure, such as feral-proof fencing, was upgraded to support recovery efforts. Collaboration with the Kokatha people, the land's traditional owners, has also strengthened, reflecting a growing integration of Aboriginal culture into conservation. Supported by partners including BHP, the South Australian government, the University of Adelaide, and Bush Heritage, along with public and dedicated staff led by Dr. Kath Tuft, Arid Recovery continues to advance its mission of protecting biodiversity.
