Sunset Tours

Arid-Recovery_Sunset-Deck-View.jpgJoin us for a sunset tour inside one of Australia’s largest and longest-running predator-proof reserves. This experience offers a rare chance to explore a working conservation reserve. Get up close to conservation in action and see what it takes to bring species back from the brink of extinction

Arid Recovery’s Sunset Tours are designed for curious minds seeking a deeper understanding of conservation in practice.

Five mammals have gone extinct, and almost half of mammals have disappeared locally. At Arid Recovery, five mammals have been reintroduced, the bilby, burrowing bettong, western quoll, kowari and Shark Bay bandicoot. This tour explores the science, decision-making and long-term research shaping threatened-species recovery. You’ll gain insight into reintroduction programs, feral-predator exclusion, and the complexities of restoring ecosystems in one of Australia’s most challenging environments.

As dusk settles, we move through the reserve watching for wildlife emerging into the night, a quiet reminder of what long-term conservation can make possible.

This is a rare opportunity to enter a working predator-proof conservation reserve. Access is intentionally limited to protect both the wildlife and the integrity of the experience.

Sunset Tours run for approximately 2.5 hours and operate on Fridays from April to October, with additional Wednesday tours during school holiday periods

Joining a Sunset Tour directly supports Arid Recovery’s conservation and research programs. The tour fees help with research, reserve management, on-ground monitoring, and protecting threatened species
