The afternoon brought together researchers, conservationists, and the community to reflect on the challenges and successes of restoring Australia’s arid ecosystems.

Check out the videos below to watch the talks and discussions

Introducing Arid Recovery: Dr. Kath Tuft, Chief Executive of Arid Recovery, shares our origin story and mission. Learn how research-focused conservation drives everything we do and why it’s key to protecting arid ecosystems and native wildlife.

Peter Copley, Arid Recovery co-founder, takes us back to the reserve’s first mammal reintroduction—the stick-nest rat. Hear about the highs and lows of this ambitious project and what it taught us about conservation challenges.

A behind-the-scenes look at managing the reserve: Nathan Manders, Arid Recovery’s Land Management Officer, describes the day-to-day operations that keep the reserve running smoothly. From maintaining infrastructure to supporting research, Nathan’s work is essential to our success.

Beyond the fence: Co-founder and Principal Scientist Dr Katherine Moseby explains why safe havens alone aren’t enough to save threatened species. Discover how Arid Recovery is tackling feral predator threats and helping native animals adapt beyond the fence.
